Title: 747 sr
Post by: davecummings on August 06, 2012, 12:21:39 pm
Is it possible to run a 747 SR in am and make it work? Aka make a decent enough profit from it or is this a no no?

Cheers
D

I doubt it would be more profitable than, say, a 737/320 on the route. The fuel expenses are just too big, and the turn time horrendous, so the few routes it manages to fly, doesn't earn much money.

I wish there was a way of making these birds pay well

Dunno as to the SR specifically, but I have one airline with a 744D on a Triangle between ATL-ORD,ORD-DFW,ATL-DFW and it earns €337,171 with 568 pax.

Notably less than the A322, but this has way more passengers.
