Title: creating routes from OCP
Post by: seafly4fun on February 07, 2009, 04:53:00 am: Not a big time saver but how about after one chooses the OCP option when renting a gate there is a box or whatever on the confirmation gate rental page to set up the route. The box can can the list of bases one flies from, the freq of flights and the price option.

I have recently started playing rather seriously again, and as when I first suggested, creating routes is the most essential part of the game, yet possibly one o the most boring and tedious.

Objectives:
Save time when creating a route (renting a gate).
Cause less confusion to new players on how to make new routes.

Suggestion:
After clicking OCP to rent a gate (which should automatically open a new tab), one should be taken directly to a page where one can create a route without having to type in/find the destination in a huge list of hundreds of gates. IE, the correct airports are already selected.
Here is a visual aid to what I am trying to suggest:

All hubs and focus cities should be shown (but not alliance bases as this could be hundreds of airports).

Next one would simply have to click ‘Search Airports’ and it should open a new tab so that one could click from both hubs if need be.

This feature already exists partly in the ‘Recreate Route’ tool as one does not have to select two sets of airports. Would the coding be similar? I could imagine so.

Any thoughts or questions?

Now might be a good time for me to note that I was planning a change. For OCP once clicked, it would automatically rent the gate without leaving the page. It would then flash green/red for success/failure with an appropriate small message. It might be possible to do a left/right click split on that though, so you either get a new tab/window or the "ajaxed" version.

How does that sound?

Which would reduce its appeal if it takes away from a premium feature...
