Title: World 10, 7 days on...
Post by: Pacific on August 06, 2008, 03:09:50 pm
The start of W10 was a very interesting one indeed, especially in North America.

We saw veterans and former #1 players all basing themselves in Chicago O'hare and them moving onto ATL.  These were:
Asylum Freight
Brokerage House
Doraemon Airlines
Europacific Air
Optimum Airlines

Asylum Freight quickly emerged to be the best starter as he built up a significant lead in as #1 in the overall rankings.  However, we also saw the surprise rise of Ostermalm Airlines, who is going all-out chasing down Asylum Freight.  The results of the battle was pure carnage, with peoples' average loadfactors dropping over 10% in a matter of 12 hours.  At time of writing, Europacific hasn't seem to have been online for 24 hours, and his loadfactor has dipped below 60%.

Europe initially saw the rise of Test Airline who bizarrely purchased 100 Vardax Aero-Hotters.  daklines is back to his triangulation strategy in megahubs, while we also see the return of Mo Mo Rabbit Airlines and ALFC.  Dakota Airlines currently leads the field in Europe but the margin is being eroded by Mo Mo Rabbit and ALFC, while at the same time, these two airlines are in the middle of a very bitter battle at CDG.  Load factors have also been hit very badly in the Megahubs of Europe, although Mo Mo Rabbit seems to have found an efficient way of keeping his loads high.

Interesting times ahead.  My mid-term predictions are Asylum for N.America/Overall and ALFC for Europe.

So has anyone ever seen the cult movie "Death Race 2000," starring David Carradine? Just wondering if Pacific here is emulating the play-by-play announcer from that movie?  8)

As a Airline based at KORD (TransMidwestern) it is similar to a game of the Christians vs. the Lions.   That's why I have also been using KIAD and KMIA.

W10 feels like pre-multiworlds.  Lusitana should join W10.
