What's so special about this plane that almost 700 are in service other than its cheap?

I guess it's the fact that there are 19 seats, and for the price, that's pretty decent.

Mmh, but if you want something that goes faster you have to pay more and have less seats. That's why people are probably buying heaps of them.

when I hit 15 thousand in cash I'll buy 5. I was hoping my Radiance Connection fleet would just be CRJ-100s but oh well.
*edit: maybe 13 in my calculations. depends though

It's probably an effect of Fred's [Cheung Airlines] fleet plan as shown below. His first/starter aircraft recommended was the Vardax.

IMO The 735's are going to be number 1, by the end of the round.

737-500s were very popular last modern round. F100's were a bit limited with range, but good for Europe. A320s/737-400s/757/767s were popular too. Really depends where in the world you are. ATR 72-210s are good starter aircraft, although fairly average range.

For a number of reasons...
Because; no other plane, currently available in World 10, can deliver the amount of passengers out to a range of ~550 NM, for the cost of the, VardaxServ-Aero Hotter.
Because; eight of the current top ten airlines chose it as their fleet starter, so other airlines figure it must be worth purchasing.
Because; since it is so popular, other people feel that it must be good, and purchase it themselves.

I decided to go with Dash8-300s instead I like the fact they have 56 seats.

I gave up with the hotter. Its best to save and go for the larger aircraft. And you don't have to replace those routes for as long!

Well, when I Started I bought 12 Paris Charles De Gaule gates, and, as their both cheap second hand, and do well, went and bought 50 of them.
I have now changed them over with Bae Jetstream J61's and Airbus's, but for a starter plane and airline booster, they are a very good way to go. True they average 20k a route, but thats still great value for a plane that costs 500k.

The Hotter ios a strange little plane. It seems to be one of the most popular in the game, yet a good search on the internet seems to suggest that it barely exists in real life. All the results for "VardaxServ" or "AeroHotter" lead straight back to AM....
The only thing about this elusive "VardaxServ" company I could find was a single sentance from a website listing various worldwide aircraft manufacturers: "Vardax - Produces turboprop conversion of de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter, as Vazar Dash 3 Turbine Otter." The DHC-3 only has enough seats for about 10 pax.
Hmmmm..... ???

Oh believe, it exist(ed). There is a complete introduction in one of those old Jane's All the World's Aircraft, where the info comes from.

Honestly, Vardax's are the best starter planes. BUT, once you get in the game, their DOP gets outclassed by almost everything and when you get alot of Bae Jetstreams on your routes, your really buggered.
