Title: newbie's questions
Post by: Lukediver on May 29, 2008, 01:29:19 pm
Hallo everybody..I am new to AirMogul...and have some doubts hope someone can help me. 1 - by mistake i rented undesired gates and obviously I paid for that. Now my balance sheet sees a positive operating revenue but a negative montly balance sheet for almost 500$....so the question is..shall I wait until the balance sheet gets to black before i can rent some more a/c? no other oprions? 2 - If I have to wait...and operating revenue is almost 5000$ for month.....how long should I wait before to have a positive balance sheet...i am a little bit confused on how long is a Mougul month.....one hour? Tks coop and help :D

An AM month has 24 days, and you can give back the unwanted gate. You need enough money to rent / buy an a/c.

As long as you have the required cash on hand, you can lease planes. Obviously you want to make sure that your forecast balance sheet will stay positive, otherwise you'd be heading towards bankruptcy.

If your revenue for an entire month is only $5000, you're in trouble. Release gates, maybe leased planes and take care of the routes you're opening.
Monthly costs are incurred on the first of the month (or whenever you lease a plane or rent a gate). They occur only once in each month (that's probably why they are called monthly  ). Daily operating profit is computed every hour in real time (1 hour equals 1 game day, 1 day = 1 game month, months in AM are all 24 days long).
Look at the upper right of your screen. Take the valur for DOP. Multiply it by 24. Deduct what your balance sheet shows as monthly costs. Is it positive? If it is, you're making money. If not, you're in trouble and measures must be taken.

Advice follows:
The thread title is miss-leading. Especially with all caps, demanding such attention.
Seems like you could use an English spelling and writing course too. You're missing vowels, punctuation, and basic sentence formation.
Welcome to the game.

To be fair... I've seen much worse from native English speakers.

Lots of them could use spelling courses as well, very true. Anyways, you don't have to wait until you get out of bankruptcy to rent gates, so rent some gates that are close to your hub and are 50,000-100,000 Euros to rent.

Good luck, Lukediver.
I only started playing yesterday and have managed to keep it all afloat - got a small fleet of 7 aircraft now, with nothing larger than a 60 seater, all turboprops. Scouted around for cheap gate rentals - either 50k or 100k and messed around with ticketing to ensure 100% load. 10m daily projected ticket revenue now for month, wth a DOP of just under 1/2 mil. I'm going to keep adding 30-40 seaters every few days, cash allowing, and adding an airport each time. Seems to be working so far. I suppose the main thing is just to have fun. I would also add that I post on a lot of different sorts of forums and it saddens me to see some of the rude responses you've had from some people - don't let it get you down.

Reset is cool. You get a new opportunity and brokers get scraps :P
Btw, guys, cut him some slacks (although the subject has been updated :P). Some of our players are still taking English courses

Reminder for the newbies, you can fly more than one destination with a single aircraft
