Title: New v. Used Aircraft
Post by: Lord Voldemort on May 28, 2008, 08:38:55 pm
Is there any difference as to the capacities a new aircraft from the manufacturers versus buying them on the market?
I was just wondering if buying a used aircraft would have lower profits compared to using a new one.
And what are Cycles/Airframes?

You would likely have lower incomes since the mx cost would be higher!

Just to add...

Your route profit will be the same whether you use a brand new aircraft or a 10-year-old one; the maintenance costs are taken at the end of the month, and that is where you will see the difference.

See this thread: http://stephenm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6774

Cycles is the number of flights the aircraft did (how many times did it take-off and land). Airframe hours is the number of hours the aircraft flew.
