When I went to "Aircraft For Sale" there was a DC-3 that had a listed "value" of $2.28 mill. with an asking price of $2 mill. But when I click on the "buy" button, the next screen shows an aircraft value of only $160K, but still an asking price of $2 mill. This is just one example. All others I checked seemed to have similar huge price discrepancies. Please explain.

The value you see in the list is the book value, the one on the sales page is the appraised value. The first is what the aircraft should be worth, the second is what it actually _is_ worth on the market.
