Post by: lhenning on May 04, 2008, 07:04:18 pm
Hi!

Wich short haul aircraft do you think is the best?

The pax is between 85-200!
And the aircraft is retired after 1995

The 737 Classic series offers a much better range of cost and pax numbers than it's Airbus competitor (until the A319 is released, but thats not in the poll). The MD-80 and 146 are inefficient. And  I don't consider it fair to put the A300&747D in the same poll as the 737/A320 as they are completely different aircraft used in completely different ways.

Depends on the flight too. If you're flying CLT-ATL or something or CDG-LHR you'll want something with lots of seats. Even a 757 will do here. But if you were doing say, LAX-MRY or CDG-Avignon, you'll want something with fewer seats (i.e. something like a BAe).

I've got Airbus A320's flying to every airport with more than 1 million pax in Europe, and Fokker F-28 4000's to all the ones with less, from my Amsterdam hub.

Of course this is all a moot point if you can't afford it.

My monthly profits finally hit 400 million euros....I suspect it'll go up as I take delivery of more planes.
