Title: How bad is your spam problem?
Post by: StephenM on April 28, 2008, 11:09:18 am: I just logged into the email address used to administrate these forums and my website account. I have just over 100,000 new messages, and I think they are nearly all spam. Its taking up about 700mb of my webspace aswell! :shock:

Give me Gmail any day!

Post by: Chavaquiah on April 28, 2008, 12:09:39 pm: According to my mail server stats, in the last 24 hours it received close to 12,000 messages, of which only 10,900 were immediately rejected as obvious spam. From over 1,000 that made it to my inbox, only 100 or so were legitimate emails. Half are caught by the secondary spam filter but that still leaves hundreds of offers for anatomy extenders and fake watches cluttering my mail.

The situation is so bad that at times SpamAssassin alone almost overloads the server. :evil:

No, its just that me friends have a lot of spam and then the stupid people that spam them see my email address and I get there smap too :cry:

And about Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages, I get only like 1-3 per week on my gmail in the spam folder.

I honsetly thought my 1400 total unread e-mails was bad... you guys have some serious problems... :lol:

Most of it is gambling or sex mails (penis enlargement, viagra-ads, rape-stories, you name it...) and that although I don't have this mail adress on any webpage and I did NOT register on any 18+ page but AM :lol:
