Post by: fbispdy0 on April 08, 2008, 12:39:55 am
Hi guys,i have a little complain to make.....Beech C99 to start a new airline?Just 15 seats???Well, you could just give at least 2 airplanes or an airplane with 30 seats.....before multiworlds with Bae146-100 at least i make some reasonable profit to grow faster....

Thats true but remember when you want another aircraft and it is probaly going to be a small one. Then if you tried to go on a route with a bae146-100 then you arent going to make a profit either.

The sole reason for the BAe146-100 was because that round only lasted 3 game years. Even for a 3 year round, it is agreed amongst the staff that we (or I mean Air Elbonia) was too generous (which Will pointed out himself even before the round started). C99 is the right size of planes. It is in line with the previous starters.

Given that you can charge 1500 euros from JFK to EWR, yeah, the starter plane is fine....well, for a 10 year round anyway.

dont underestimate the C99, its a really good plane. While I was testing Multiworlds out I had a fleet of 15 which have me and average of 300k from ORD and LHR to regional airports

well,i would prefer at least a 20 or 30 seats airplane because i didn'start at a very big airport like JFK which the profit can make it easy for a newstarter....and i think after the end of this round to gather the 20 first airlines from all the worlds and play a round from 1946 to 2004 just to make out the most succesful player of Airline Mogul...i think its a good idea....

I must admit though, my favorite regional turboprop of all time would definitely be the Embraer EMB-120, which unfortunately doesn't come out until 1985. I would say my favorite regional jet would be the ERJs.

It was my first round playing last round. With the 45 million dollar plane, I made about 2 million profit. The C99 allowed me to make 3 million profit as I chose a better base etc.

Three million? I'm making 822k with a plane 4 times its size, even out of JFK.

Price elasticity of demand. ;)

That doesn't explain that huge discrepancy, unless the demand is perfectly elastic or close to it.

Or the 3M thing is off by a couple of euros. Most I ever made on any plane is about 1.5M, flying big routes as close as possible to AMS.

Or that's 3M per RT day = 1 month game time?

Possibly. I've played in Australasia before. AKL sucked. That's why I moved up to Calgary and now to JFK.
