I've been playing Pet Shop Mogul for a few minutes and it is very nice and all but I have a complaint. I think that nice looking guy in the staff page should forbid selling pets for 1€ because that ruins the market and is not realistic.
Pet reproduction frequencies should also be limited. I think that pets should not try to reproduce more than 1x per day because that's... well... gross!
(Make an exception for rabbits)

You can't stop nature. Some animals, rabbits both included and excepted, probably reproduce well over one time per day, or at least try to. We are not going to forbid selling pets at €1.00 simply because it is within game rules. I'm sorry, but we cannot help you with this.

Pet Shop Mogul is a new game, all about running your own pet shop. In a massive world where everybody wants pets, your shop will compete in a friendly way with other shops, in order to become the best pet shop around.
We have a lot of great features!
* Hire staff for your shop
* Clean out the animal shelters
* Restock your store yourself...
* ... or hire someone to do it for you
* See your sales data
* Help your virtual customers
* Create meal recipes for the animals
* Breed new animal species together with other players
* Participate in animal shows
It is a nice game. You should give it a try.

Start off with the Hippos. Although you may not be able to afford more than a couple, they are profitable. :wink:

I disagree. Hippos are too large for most cities. Try selling some in Hong Kong. No one has the space to bring them home.
You should start with smaller animals. They are much more affordable, eat less and will breed much faster.
If you MUST have hippos, then I suggest you get only one. Then join an alliance with other hippo breeders and let them... well... get together.

Smaller animals aren't economical. Their markets are pretty saturated.
Take Hong Kong as an example, it is estimated that there are tens of thousands of rats all over the streets. No one is going to buy any when they could just catch a couple in the diner that frequent :wink:
Using Hong Kong as a further example, many of the high-rise apartments have rules that prohibit the residents from keeping dogs, and some even cats. The Hong Kongers are paranoid about avian flu as well so they are not going to keep birds. There is no rule that prohibits hippos and no health issues are of concern. :lol:

That's the unrealistic part of this game. In real-life, people would want clean rats, not street rats. In PSM, they just don't care.

I think that a way to lessen saturation would be if we could pick a few details when ordering new animals.
I'd like to be able to choose eye colour, fur length and colour, leg length, tail length, number of spots (for dalmatians, particularly), mood disposition, you name it.
Then we should not have just one price per animal but instead a multitude of small items that would add up. And you would have to set a different price for each and every minor detail.

Oh, I had a few more in store ;) :
1) I would pester a broker for an elephant at half price and then, not getting an immediate answer, I would start badmouthing brokers and spamming the forum with a new complaint every 5 seconds;
2) I would post a totally impractical suggestion and then, not seeing it immediately implemented, I would follow up with something accusing developpers of not paying attention to my suggestions and, generally, badmouthing PSM staff (do you see a pattern here?);
3) I would pose as a clueless PSM player and demand that everyone guide me through the most basic of steps (where to set up shop? What pets to sell? What price to sell them?);
4) I would suggest that there should a way to keep adding new floors to shopping centres that were already more than full;
5) I would complain that I had ordered a bunch of all male rabbits and now they are not reproducing (except for that odd couple with the pink ribbons, in the corner, that seem to be trying nevertheless);
6) I would accuse some other player of cheating because his guinea pigs are reproducing much faster than my single-genre rabbit bunch;
7) I would ask for ways to make more money, faster (selling waste as fertilizer, promotion agreements with pet food brands, grooming customers' pets, ...);
8) I would complain that gestation period is too long and that a new litter should take only 5 minutes from "nice to meet you" to "it's your turn, dear, one of the kittens is crying."
Anyway... I figured I had spammed enough for one day, so I'm keeping these in reserve for another opportunity. :P
