Title: Developers of AM please read!
Post by: cooperdan on March 31, 2008, 12:55:26 pm
Hi im DJCAIRLINER and i currently have a prob with AM as i'm opperating a psp system and when i'm on airline mogul (via it) the create route page doesnt work and niether does the buy aircraft page so the only way i can buy aircrafts is the broker system which takes twice as long! :x

I have emailed personaly air elbonia about the situation but he just never replied back and just said he's trying.         If i could either get an answer or someone who could see whats going on i would be very grateful.

from DJCAIRLINER.

We are aware of problems with the PSP. Its a matter of not being able to get a console to test it locally for a start, I was looking at downloading an emulator but dont want to get something dodgy.

As for mobile divices, I've asked one of the developers to start researching a Java version of AM for use on mobiles/cell phones.

Just a note:

3rd March Bálint and I discussed possible issues with Ajax (the menus not working) but I was assured they should work

4th March Will and I discussed the issue with the PSP with no obvious immediate solution.

10th March Will emailed you back (Or so my records show)

Greets Daniel,
Sorry I haven't responded sooner.  At the moment, while i sympothise with your problem I am unsure as to how to alter the code in order to better support PSP's and other mobile devices.  We would love to improve our support for these devices in the long term but at the moment I personally am at a loss for how to fix this issue.  I am trying a few of my connections to see if they have any advice or possible solutions, but they're not necissarily fast or right.

Hopefully we'll have this sorted out soon, but unfortunately I cannot make any promises.

Will // Air Elbonia

I would also appreciate it-AM works on a nokia 6280-my dad's phone.

I dont generally go on AM on my mobile as it would cost too much and have little benefit for me, but do you use much data playing AM on the mobile? Its far from ideal I'm sure on a mobile.

Do you have internet cafes in your neighborhood or a public computer you can use? A computer at school or something?

Yeah but they're 13 miles away from us and the school has filtered Airline mogul for some unknown reason.

So stephen looks like if your work place does filter AM or the forum your time on both of them will be limited like mine is via airline mogul.

I will be very surprised if you ever reach 1000 players in World 5. Yes, it will be the most populated world in AM, but it will be far from saturated, even with 1350 players.

Im also thinking that 424 players for public world 5 is far to big as well.

Does anyone else think MXP and I are right?

Also whats the status of the create route page on AM    (psp compatibilaty fing?)

Until you donate us a PSP, we can't look into the issue.
And @the 424 players thing, you used to be in a world with 2000 other players. 424 should be easy. This game is not about playing with dogs and sheep in a nice green meadow, without competition it would be really boring.

Okay about the 424 fing i suppose thats sorted out but as for the psp fing!

'Dont tell me that none of the A.M team dont have a psp system or none of their mates/family have one that they can let you borrow for a while!

Although if you dont have one that you can borrow of any one else then...

-Your use-less and im just fed up so stop trying to find a solution to the psp prob that i have.

Thanks for nothing.  :

I could get my sisters one, but I assume it runs off a Wireless network and not LAN? If so then I'd have difficulty getting that part sorted as I just use 3G for internet or my work PC.

I can see this will be hard.   Realisticly do you think we will have this prob sorted out by the end of this year.

Adobe has a number of device presets (mobile / symbian).

I wonder if they have one hiding somewhere for the PSP. You might be able to pass the PHP files through dreamweavers compatibility checker using that specification.

And I hate those 3G cards / dongles / sticks. I'm having to use one occasionally at the moment when the wifi drops out.

Opera Mini won't run on all mobile phones.
I've got a phone (Motorola Z6m) thru U.S. Cellular and it runs Brew not Java. CDMA phones (most prevailant in North America) don't do Java.
I also have several GSM phones thru  T-Mobile, and they won't run any unsigned java apps, including an HTC Dash i've got. IE mobile loads it mostly okay. The site itself is too big to load onto a few of my older nokia's, and some of the newer ones render things pretty funky, if at all.
A text based site (no graphics aside from the logo, and click and go) for mobiles would be ideal.

I really dont care anymore if you do make airline mogul compatible with the psp and other systems like it...

One thing, people who want to access AM from a PSP or a phone is highly addicted to the game to a extent that they will kill themselves to play it
