Which one do you prefer?

The reason for this poll I'll tell you when the first ones made their choices.

Microsoft have a good product with that high res imagery, but finding the places you want with it is another issue.

It clearly doesn't. It says its the most popular. I said I prefer Microsoft's product, however as a result of limited availability I continue to use the poorer Google product.

I told you I will let you know the reason for this poll.

Did anyone ever visited the site www.flashearth.com ? You can choose there between GM, VE and others to display aerial images. Now the interesting thing is that VE does not display the earth in every place as it is. Don't believe it? I'll prove it. Set VE as your image provider and enter "Sigonella" as a location to search for. Wait until the image is clearly visible. Not much to see  ? Now switch to GM. Do you see the difference?

If you want to see a weird thing scroll to the western overrun area of the RWY28L/10R and switch back to VE again. Zoom out - at one point the whole base will suddenly appear.

If you are familiar with Italian Air Bases check others (Grosseto is clearly visible in both - others are not). Search in VE for specific points that indicate an air base is located here. Sometimes it is pretty easy when you can still see the approach strobes or fences. Check Cagliari/Elmas Mil. It is a shared military/civil one. In VE the military part has been deleted. If you take a close look onto the water where the military part should be you will see copy'n'pastes :)

Stephen: does this change your mind about Microsoft products?
