AFAIK this part of the page should contain an aircraft pic given by AM. The discussion was also about copyrights. If you are able to privide photographs for all aircrafts in the game and you arre the copyright owner I guess the staff will put them into this game soon.

True. If you have a non-copyrighted picture or you're willing to give us the pictures to publish online, without author credit, please send an email to me ( rens.denuijl@airlinemogul.com ) or :staff: .

If anyone is curious what a specific aircraft looks like, check out the photo section at http://www.airliners.net.

We can resize it to what we need as long as we have permission to do so.

I sent a few to Stephen already from my trip to Punta Cana, he has either lost them or just never could be bothered to upload them. For planes which appear in this round in the pics I've got are the 732ADV and A310-300.

As a photographer, I give you props for caring about copyright infringement.

As an aside, there have to be royalty free photos of all these planes floating out there somewhere.

We have permission to use about 2,000 photos on Airliners.net The majority of these are quite modern photos. We also have those donated by Alex there, and my own.

We did have someone who was to create profiles of planes for us, but unfortunately this never materialised.

Copyright permissions are usually given by specific photographers, not by airliners.net administrators.

Strictly by photographer or an agency/third party licensing liaison.

A VERY common misconception is that AM could use them under Fair Use.  That is incorrect and would never hold up in court if it ever came to that.  Trust me, I've been through 11 infringement cases with 8 still in court.  (This does not include the COUNTLESS times I've contacted someone about an illegal usage and they claimed Fair Use.)

The misunderstood portion of the Fair Use guidelines is that the photo can be used for a discussion about the PHOTO, not the contents WITHIN the photo.  So if we were discussing the plane in a photo, the paint scheme, or anything else like that, it would not be protected by Fair Use.  However, if we were discussing the technical merits of the photo, how it was created (lens choice, shutter/aperture, digital/film, post processing or any post production photoshop work such as cloning and such, that IS protected under Fair Use.

If you ever have any questions about it, contact my attorney Ed Greenberg (New York City).  He's hard to catch on the phone but if you get him, he'll give you a hell of a lesson.

You may be able to use some of the photos on Wikipedia. They have been released under various licenses, some of which may be acceptable for use here.

I think I have a picture of a Song 757-200 hanging out somewhere from the time I got bored and took pictures at SFO.

I'll see if I have others.

Yeah, look on the Wikimedia Commons as well. It's a huge repository of free-use photography... either released into public domain or some sort of copyleft license... GFDL, Creative Commons, etc.
