Why do a lot of airlines in the top few only have 10% Usage on gates, and they still have the gates? I thought you had to have 20% usage, or get it returned?

Not bug. As long as you use 1 slot, the gate is "in use". 1 slot out of 10 makes 10%.

Thats not my point, isnt it that you have to have 20% useage of a gate, or it will be reurned?

No, you have to have 10% usage of one gate, 55% of 2 gates, 70% of 3 gates, 77.5% of 4 gates... and so on.

The rule is: no more than 9 free slots.

If you have 0% usage on 1 gate, it will get returned.
Less than 50% usage on 2 gates, one will be returned.
Less than 66% usage on 3 gates, 1 will be returned, or less than 33% usage on 3 gates, 2 will be returned.

And so on. As long as there are 10 slots free, a gate will be returned.

Just a thought then, last round, when I had gates at 10% useage, I had to use them more, or return? Has this changed?

You could never loose a gate if you used it.
