If you read the manual, it has some useful information.  It helped me when I started.

I recommend doing shorter routes in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah so you can begin making a steady DOP.  Try Grand Junction, Aspen, Cheyenne, and Santa Fe first.  Then go from there.

Are there codes for these?

I got my gates. Do I put as many routes on them as possible?

Keep your flights as 1 frequency (there and back) and see how you get on, or else you will be competing against yourself

I have 1 flight on each gate. Should I add my flights?

Yup, keep renting gates and add routes untill your airplane runs out of hours. keep your gates close to DEN for now

I don't know geography around some areas of the world (as I'm from west London) but only know capital cities and everything else that you should know. I always use Google maps ( http://maps.google.co.uk/maps ) And find my way around there. I then go to The great circle mapper ( http://gc.kls2.com/ ) and then search my route, for eg DEN-ORD and see how far they are and compare it to a aircraft I have.
