Title: How does everyone create their cool sigs?

I was hoping to create a sig pic of a plane or plane tale with my Airline logo imposed on it. How did everyone do it? Not sure where to start in order to do it. Was/is there a program or website where you go them? Thanks in advance :D

i created mine in Paint X but it is square - I'd like to know how to get the long skinny ones  :roll:

You can just create a new image and change the dimensions to something like 500x125px.
