Title: Weird....
Post by: iranair777 on January 25, 2008, 02:01:11 pm
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I noticed that from OIII-KSFO to the great circle mapper its 7371nm but the range of a lockheed starliner is 7190nm. while If I put 7190 into GCM, I can fly it to australia and any north american destination. therefore the game doesnt allow me to fly it to san francisco. does it have to do with the curvature of the earth, and if it does, isnt this suppose to decrease the route length?

The data (http://gc.kls2.com/cgi-bin/gc?PATH=OIII-KSFO&RANGE=7190@OIII%0D%0A&PATH-COLOR=red&PATH-UNITS=mi&PATH-MINIMUM=&SPEED-GROUND=&SPEED-UNITS=kts&RANGE-STYLE=best&RANGE-COLOR=navy&MAP-STYLE=url)
