Hm, there were so many changes in the last two centuries in the heart of Europe. Depending on the time you may say I am 100% german. If you go back into the 1800+ there would probably be a little percentage danish (now Schleswig-Holstein Northern Germany).

Same with me. If you go with my parents, 100% German (although I wasn't born here). With my grand parents it's rather like 75% German, 25%  Romanian. Some generations further back there'd also be some Dutch, some Russian, some Polish, some Hungarian and some Lithunian Influence!

But i have Filipino,Chinese,Malay(Indonesian and Malaysian),Japanese,Indian, bit Spanish and so on. I often get asked If I'm Mexican or South American, I guess i look a little like them, but then I also end up being asked if I were Hawaiian, although i nvr been to Hawaii but Hawaiians share my same heritage.I usually end also being called Korean or Japanese and when they ask me Where are u from and i say.....Mhhmm erhh, i dont know,I'm like an Hybrid of different Races.

On account of Shelling the Four Courts back in the 1920s during the Civil War a lot of Irish records got wiped out. :(

I can follow one part of my family down to the 13th century. This was the part of the family that lived in a part of Germany that was mostly untouched by wars. The ones that lived in eastern Europe a) moved around quite a bit b) had to flee after the ending of WWII c) the Germans and the Russians destroied most documents wile they were fighting (and for these parts of the family mostly were uneducated peasants until the middle of the 19th century, there wasn't much to be written down anyway)

Well, there you have another Problem in Germany: In the 17th century we had a civil war for 30 years that basically bombed the country back into the stone age. If you go earlier than that, there's very little intact data to be found here...

No problems in Greece or former Yugoslavia. People rarely moved. They would stay  in their villages for all their life.

50% Dutch, 25% German, 25% Polish [though this could very well be Hungarian. traces back to a town very near the border that's changed hands a few times through history].
