Title: seems to be a problem with the .5 coding?
Post by: Wibblebutt on January 10, 2008, 10:42:05 pm
I have an aircraft flying in a day OOL - WLG (.5), WLG - MEL (1), WLG - CHC (1.5) then CHC - HKK (.5), which works out fine in a scheduling sense. When I go to edit the WLG - CHC route it will only let me fly 1 frequency, which then makes the route illogical as it wouldn't be able to fly the CHC - HKK .5 route. I have since changed the CHC - HKK to 1 frequency. Maybe a problem in the coding?

The aircraft ID is 19540
Airline ID 5136

hmm... technically the .5-1-.5 is an illogical route path still allowed by the code [it's not perfect, just better then last age]... but. yes. that route shouldn't be forced to be round trip.  i'll double check that in a bit.

How is .5-1-.5 illogical?

WWW-(XXX-YYY-XXX)-ZZZ works. The one-ways are WWW-XXX and XXX-ZZZ, and the round trip is XXX-YYY.

Day 1 starts in WWW, Day 2 starts in ZZZ. Lather, rinse, repeat.

All from X: (i.e.)
x->.5
x->1
x->.5
is logical.

W->.5 ->X<->1.00<->Y->.5->Z isn't  because it cannot complete .5's at both ends without bending the laws of physics [invariably the 1.0 theoretically returns to its origin, if not it cannot complete the round trip].
