Passenger traffic in 2004 and 2005 ..... and in 2007 all be it virtually nothing.

2005: http://www.aviation.go.th/technical/stat2005/MaeSot.htm
2004: http://www.aviation.go.th/technical/stat2004/MaeSot.htm

For a closed airport it seems relatively busy. I flew there in 2005.

and with 96 scheduled flights yes

And fact is, if you look at all the stats from 1997 till 2007 it is very busy for an airport that has been closed since 1997 according to you :D

I live in Bangkok btw .........

Phuket Air which went belly up because of the EU embargo held the rights to fly to Mae Sot and had scheduled flights there untill there troubles in 2005.

Out of curiosity .... where did you get the info from that Mae Sot got closed 10 years ago? Thailand has an open skies policy and the Civil Aviation Authorities try to promote every airstrip around the country for flights.

Pai for instance has recently opened and has approx 1000 pax per month but I couldn't add that one for lacking the Code! So the Database refused that one.
