Title: Newbie question regarding Boeing/Douglas aircraft
Post by: pepdav on January 07, 2008, 03:25:10 am
How come when I go into the aircraft sell/lease section I don't see any Boeing or Douglas aircraft available? All I'm seeing is 9,20 and 40 odd seaters? 737's sould be in service by now shouldn't they? It makes my dreams of vast wealth seem so far away with Beech 99's

Got to "view & buy" and choose either "purchase aircraft" or "request aircraft" to buy new ones.

We have a reset at 1970's so most people are not able to afford Boeing's or Douglas' at the moment. The one that could afford them mostly keep them in their fleets. Even if someone lease them out, the planes would be leased in no time.

The 737's are overrated.

yah, it's unlikely you will gain the lease rate of 9 mio $ from a 737

I am indeed quite surprised at the leaserates for 737's. It would be possible to get about 10 mill out of a B 737 per month. And if you have to pay 7 to 9 mill of that to the leasing company you have virtually made no profit.

On ideal routes you can make money with it.  People are able to charge that though because people will rent them.  Otherwise, people would lease them out for less.
