Title: 48 hours for some planes?
Post by: pocketbookbrando on January 03, 2008, 01:33:25 am
How can I tell how long it takes for planes to be made? I just bought a plan with a 100+ capacity and it says it will take two days for it to show up.

I'll put a suggestion about displaying that a little more clearly in the suggestion forum ;)

Seems reasonable. What else has a large waiting time?

For this era. DC10: 5 days, DC8: 4 days.
The 747-100 is 7 days.

This I like. No further questions.

It tells you how many days a plane takes to make before confirming the order.

The bigger they are, the more time they require.

What is the number of seats that decides if you will have to wait 24 or 48 days? Is 99 seats available in 24 days and 100 seats in 48 days? Or is 100 seats in 24 and 101 seats in 48?
Thanks.

Nope. I ordered 2 737-200s (115 seats each) and it takes 24 gamedays before they're delivered. A BAC111-500 (119 seats) takes 24 days as well, while a Vanguard (117 seats) takes 48 days.

Anyway, thanks for making that clear. I am still not sure which a/c type to go for. Currently I buy the F28 (nice jet - did not have a plane with that much profit in the 50's). Not enough money to buy the bigger ones right now

ignore Jps. he's wrong. terribly wrong.
it used to be based off of the number of flight attendants, with a small bug. which put it at <100 seats == 24 game days; 101 == 48 game days...
now it's based off of a slightly more complex algorithm combining the capacity, fuel flow, number of engines, and number of pilots in magical and mysterious ways. it should constrain most deliveries to between 1 and 8 real time days. while prior to this alteration, some planes took as long as 11 real time days to deliver.

So there is no simple way to find out the delivery time before clicking on "buy" right to the aircraft?
