Title: Hub set up costs

Is there anyway of finding out what the cost of a new hub or focus airport will be without first having to rent the gates? I have rented gates only to find that the cost of the hub was way too high.

You need to rent 4 gates first, the charge for setting up a base is 50 x gatecost

Why is essential information like this not in the manual?
50 X gate cost is one of the biggest costs in the game and it is not mentioned anywhere. I have wasted huge $$$$ on this and have had to return 8 gates as a consequence. Is it not time that the manual was revised or embellished a wee bit? This is my first round and I do not have the benefit of previous experience.

Yesterday, when I saw this, I went and added this information in the manual (I'm not that good at writing in English so apologies if it doesn't look too well).

Still, it would be nice if people started doing the same. In keeping with he spirit of a community and such. True, the manual is, at te moment, somewhat weak and lacking in important information for rookies like me. But an edit takes a couple minutes, anyone can do it and it may save many repeated questions in the forum.

That is why I made a Wiki instead of our own custom manual. I wanted the players to update it rather than have staff manually doing it. :)

I hear what you are saying Stephen but how would one even know that this was the case (50 x gate fee). This is really elementary stuff that I think really should be in there from day one. Some gates are very expensive and to have to buy 4 of them only to find out that a base is going to cost you an extra 50 x the gate rent fee is just untenable. This should be mentioned somewhere prior to having to fork out for the gates and their inevitable return.

Most elementary stuffs are mentioned in the forum now and then, repeatedly. We just need players to put them up.

I do go on the wiki once in a while, but most time is spent to prove read recent changes :wink:
