I have 4 and am going to get the brand new one.

Whats societies like? I have Sim City 4 and 200 around here somewhere. But a few summers ago, it was quite warm in Ireland (I think it hit 20*c :o ) and my desktop's cooling fan was making a lot of noise when I was playing it, next thing "pop" computer died and so did our hard disk. :(

SimCity 3000 and 4 here, with addons from simtropolis.com of course :) (Great HK bats if you're looking for some decent high-rises)
After reading a couple reviews of Socs here and there, I don't think I'll ever buy it unless EA releases a seriously large expansion pack. I mean, what progress-minded company would reduce the number of features between releases and add-in random qualities into a population that needs only two types of transport???? If they're "The Sims-ing" it, they might as well make SimNeighbourhood if EA wants a game between a giant city management and simple life management game...oh well, guess it's all because Socs ain't Maxis :(
But yea, I'd rather buy Cities Unlimited. It actually looks cool 8)

Used to play four but disc two has a tasty cyclic redundancy error. Attempting to download an ISO. Societies looks shocking from what I've seen but you never know.

SimCity Societies... They are trying to make an update that fixes the crashes that it makes every minute you load the game. If your population reaches over 30.000, basically your game is crashing in the first ten minutes you play. They have made 2 patches so far. They don't seem to work since I tested the Patch 2 before :roll: .
This is why Maxis has better customer support.

Oh I know it's CALLED Simcity Societies. But it's not Simcity. Simcity was a city builder in which you control zones and is a brand name of Maxis.
Edit: Equivalent of calling a Boeing an Airbus, just because it has the name doesn't mean it is.

Just to let you both know, SimCity is a registered trademark of Electonic Arts Incorporated.
Maxis is a wholely owned subsidiary and brand name of EA Inc.
Tilted Mills Entertainment is a private game author, unrelated to EA. EA simply published a "spin-off" of SimCity, called SimCity Societies.
Also...
Maxis versions were alot more development-based, such as zoning, taxes, transport, utilities, etc.
SimSocs is people-based eg: government types, directly placing buildings, etc.
Hope that clears up some of the sparks here.

I heard its actually quite fun, but..... my stupid graphics card is outdated and my computer is retarded becuase it won't allow larger graohic cards :evil:

If Maxis developed this one, it wouldn't been different. Maxis planned SimCity 5 this way but never had the time because of Sims 2.

Simcity Socities is pretty fun. I installed it into my mom computer and I actually like. The only thing that I dislike is the inablity to scroll out like in Simcity 4 and that its way to sensitive when moving around.

You should try it. I personally love Simcty 4 and I wish their was a more in-depth game, with weather, more disasters, ability to choose what building look like, but you still get to zone, and alot more 8)

Unfortunately, I doubt Maxis/Microsoft will ever take a look into making another Simcity game (especially if this one does not sell well) :cry:

Which one. Societies? It's very complicated to work with at first :roll: but I like it.

Now where is that Airport? You cant connect cities. and a lot of stuff. I still prefer Sim city 4.

I played at my friends house and it wasn't great like Sim City 4.Perhaps the Graphics but the rest was a turn off. You get to place the buildings you like but c'mon those sim can even live with out School and other stuff. I also played City Life Deluxe aand again Sim city 4 is still the best

:roll: You need to place those thnings to make a functioning society! If you dont do that it will be come a place for burglers and such. Thats why in my city, there is a low crime rate, good health serivice, and good fire service!

I never have been able to raise money, so I wait for rubbish contracts to come in from other cities and get a really high DOP (if i can call it that :lol: ) in a very quick time. Although I gave up when I found its really hard to control the city (and when your bored, open a past game where you have been successful then start fires, riots, tornadoes etc :lol: )

i build the NIMBY buildings, raise a little money so I can expand, get a good DOP :lol:, and then blow the NIMBY buildings up :D

Build a city with basically everything you need, on the patch next to it, build another city with industry only and connect it to the first city with power and water, and keep doing that all the way till then end.. Sim City 4 is kinda boring because there's too much micro-management... Sim City Societies is basically not a very funny joke.

I always in first person shooters use cheats and in san andreas I spend my time putting cheats in and then when I feel like it i go on a rampage with a minihun :lol:

btw i always take add-ons for my city from Simtropolis.com (http://www.simtropolis.com), they have this radical ordinance that will make your city grows perfectly, equal to automatically removing you from your own office because there's no job to do :? but still, nice to see our town grows without the ghetto, right :P
