Title: Dusseldorf-Weeze and Niederrhein are the same airport
Post by: bryandaja on November 07, 2007, 04:07:59 am
The airports LRC and NRN are the same airport in real life, but they are listed as separate ones in AM.

Niederrhein was renamed Dusseldorf-Weeze airport to attract customers to/from the city, even though it actually takes two hours on a bus to get to Weeze from Dusseldorf.

On Wikipedia they explain the name changes at this airport more thoroughly:

In any case, one of the two airports in AE ought to be removed in future, as they are really the same.

Cool, this should be rectified for next age. at present... it's ugly to try to remove the older name as it has flights going to it at a minimum.
