Title: Convair Model 37?
Post by: Max2147 on October 20, 2007, 01:55:21 am
Is this plane going to be added to the game?

The Convair Model 37 was to the the passenger version of the B-36.  PanAm ordered 15, but it wasn't built.  It would still be a fun plane to have in the game though if there's still time.

204 passengers
4,200 mile range
Very high fueluse
Can't find a cruising speed.  The B-36 cruised at 230 mph with jets off.  The Model 37 had no jets.

So you want them to add a plane that don’t exist?

The Lockheed R6V Constitution never entered service, and the Dornier 728 (last round) never flew (the 728-200 was never even built).  So there is a precedent for adding planes that were planned but didn't actually serve with airlines.

The XC-99 was built and served with the Air Force for almost a decade.

I think that before the staff puts planes in that never really flew (like the Do 728), they should go for less known planes that had actually flew, at least in the prototype stage, like the Antonov AN-10 (It flew from 1957 to 1972 (carried 100 pax, able to fly 2500 mi at about 360kts, all this according to wiki.)), MD-220 and PZL MD-12 (not to be mistaken with MDD's MD-12).

I think they should add it. I remember last round a large gap in aircrafts though... I hoped they fixed it.
