My airline value just dropped by about 3mil when i paid a 3mil deposit for an aircraft.
Is that supposed to happen? I thought it was considered an asset.

It's not an asset until the plane is delivered and in your "hangar".

ummm...i didn't do anything and i just lost another 2mil in airline value when the game day changed...

Probably your DOP was changing.. i sold one DC-3.. airline value was 18m ... up to 24m.. suddenly..

my DOP changed like 5000euro cos the load factor on one of my routes went down, but thats all
its still in the 700,000s...
i went from ranking around 144 to 208 now

Indeed. it is still an affect.. even if it dropped as low as 10 euros..
