Why is the cost charged to me more expensive each time there is a higher markup percentage. Isn't it suppose to be lower as the markup percentage gets higher?

5% markup means that you are willing to pay 5% extra to the person who takes your order. So of course the price will be higher for 5% than 0%.

Also, to extend this slightly.  The downpayment is based off of the total marked up cost, not the original cost. so you pay 30% of 105% of the plane value at a 5% markup.
