How come some airlines own 5 aircraft before the game started??????? Should be banned immediately. :twisted:

D Express is an official broker, who gets planes when they are scrapped. So is Skylite Industries, and OrangeAir. And Hampo.
@Daemonfly: Nice innit? :) Anyway, there's still some airlines down in the top-6 that look kinda fishy. I don't see how you can have over 1400 passengers without being over 5 million in debt, while still having a high airline value.

I have a hunch my €1 lessor got busted. Glad I still have the plane (which was not bound for me :D) though!
In all seriousness, the lease function unfortunately enables people to multi-account while being hard to detect, and doing private leases for €0 - basically giving themselves free aircraft. This is a similar, if not worse problem in comparison with half-priced *bleep* in the "blue" game.
As for the official brokers, past record show them keeping a small airline network (probably to offset the cost of scrapped planes) while giving people very reasonable lease rates. I'd say give them a chance.

With the amount of planes you have, you should easily acheive an 800k+ DOP

And if you don't want to see brokers around, tell Stephen that. We are here to provide a service, as in benefits to you all. We are not here to serve, as in be your slaves and provide you with all the planes for nothing. We don't deserve these kinds of complaints and rants and abuses. This would be my final words to those would complain about us getting the scraps.
As for those others who have extra planes, they are most probably cheaters and the admin team is working on it. The unfortunate thing is that the staff working on it (ie. me) is useless, so bare with me.

Im more than -5million in debt due to scraps... its going to take me a good few days to get back on the straight and narrow, thats assuming i dont get more scraps ;) So us brokers have it worse than the rest of you at the start.

Actually, that someone who has bought the Vultee V-1 is quite innocent, at least in the act of buying the plane. A cheater bought the plane he put on market, so he has the money for the V-1.
The cheater concerned has been banned.

How does someone go about adding to their fleet at this point of the game? Even if I had no gate purchases, I couldn't afford the downpayment on even the cheapest of planes. How does someone like this get started up:

I presume you are new here. In the last round, the official brokers had a zero or minimal route network while providing everyone with very cheap aircraft and leases. I'm sure they know what they're doing.

We have to start with an airline to actually get the cash! Once we have built our selfs up we normally slowly drop the routes. For example once i could establish enough money of leasing i closed all routes and provided very cheap leasing to all AM players (€500 whatever aircraft per month)

geez, the brokers are not cheating. read up on who the official brokers are before accusing people.
i do however have to say that certain players (one with 11!! the other with 6!) leased in starter planes do appear to be a bit "fishy".
i hope this is being investigated and hopefully resolved ASAP

i have a suggestion, that could eliminate the false accusations of brokers being cheaters. take them off of the rankings. i assume the brokers also actually play the game. why can't their broker business, and airline be separated? display airline and airline value in the rankings, and then maybe a separate ranking to rank the brokers that exist.
dont yell at me, i cant think of anything wrong with this idea. just throwing it out there.

The problem of us gettting more planes, and then operating more routes, and thus "crushing" our competitiors still remains.
If you seperate the accounts, ... we have said why that wouldn't work either.

Brokers, and how to fit them into the normal picture of the game is the question of the century. It'll be a while before a good answer is found i think, as brokers solely brokering seems to be a little problematic with regards to keeping pace, operating them together (as presently) gets them accusations of cheating, and giving them two airlines: one for brokerage, one for gameplay, doesn't work for both the lack of financing for the brokerage, as well as the potential for accusations of abuse for having two airlines to play with.
innovative thinking is welcome on the subject though.

i really do agree with tom's rendering of this idea. it wouldnt be like two airlines. it would be an airline, with a business on the side that does not consist of actually building an airline. although i do acknowledge that it would be pretty difficult. unless these brokers were allowed to have a second account that could be made into a special brokerage account and not set up the same way. it's seeming more and more difficult the more i type. lol

the title in that post has nothing to do with this idea/topic that we're discussing right now. i dont have time to go into a post that has a title not related to what im talking about, just in case. and im not reading that one right now, but im sorry if this was all talked about. but i dont see what the problem is. the brokerage account would not go broke and out of business. it would not have gate fees or anything like that to cost them. give them 500,000 euro and 1 aircraft. they can either sell that one aircraft and with the 500k euro, purchase multiple smaller planes to lease. they can then raise enough money to start taking actual brokerage deals in and ordering aircraft. or start them with more money too. or they can just lease the aircraft they were started with until they have money to broker. with the fees, they only make money. they have no fees to pay. therefore they would be basically guarenteed not to go out of business. and depending on the few decisions that they have to make, they will compete in a set of their own rankings. but i will accept that it cant work even though i think otherwise. i just ask that it stay concidered.

not sure what you mean by they cant afford to lease out planes based on my model, but i understand your other points and i appologize for arguing when i didn't know everything that was involved in a brokerage in the first place. but the arguing could've been avoided too if the few reasons you just listed were pointed out to me in the first place. oh well. sorry.

This is where you need to go back to my suggestion regarding different measures of success. Give people MORE ways of 'winning' and there will be less of this. Total value won't be quite the issue that it is.
