Position: Aircraft Data Officer
Brief duties & requirements: To research, analyse, collate, update and calculate data relating to aircraft both present ingame and data that is not ingame yet.
Payment: No financial reward.
Requirements:- Aged 18 years or older (This may be asked to be confirmed)
- Be able to get data quickly and well able to understand what each figure means, and where required make educated guesses.
- Have a good knowledge of aircraft development history since 1950 (Civilan & Commercial)
- Strong interest in aviation & Airline Mogul
- Minimum time availablility of 2-5 hours per week.
- Anyone with examinations for school/college (State/final exams) are encouraged not to apply.
- Have a good form of communications.
- Act in a professional and personable manner.
- Act in a responsible manner with regard to duties and any tasks/privelages set on them.
- Basic knowledge of the English language is a requirement. (Does not have to be first language)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of how to use Gmail & GoogleTalk is an advantage.
Detailed Duties- To add new data to the game for most known commercial aircraft manufacturers
- To edit and update existing data and new data where flaws are found, or new data discovered
- Be able to find own sources for information and not rely on others.
- Accomplish tasks set by the game administrators.
- Other duties may be assigned at any time and the candidate will be notified accordingly.
Closing Date: Wednesday 10th October 2007 - 12:00z

Other: Extra weighting will be made for those that put in significant effort and/or visible aspiration to attain the position. Bonus will also be given to those with Third level education, either current or previous.

Guys. This is serious.
MrOrange, I don't see why Official Broker can't be an admin. It may involves some logistic problem to be resolved (ie. admin and official broker statuses are not compatible in game), but it doesn't matter that much for this position (at least I don't think it matters that much). So apply if you want it.

If I get to vote who will be the aircraft data officer.. i'd pick MrOrange, im sure he can handle all that work.. :D but of course there's effects such as slow shipping to green ..

oh, on a side note, so the applicants know what to expect;
The future AC Data Officerr would probably be doing other duties instead of really adding planes. There will be some data calculation and correction to do. However, there shouldn't be many planes left to be added after the upcoming reset. With the help of Will and Rick, I am planning to add everything that fly (except seaplanes, space shuttles, and helicopters) with 9 seats or more in one shot :D . I will post the new list of aircraft up later, so you all can point out what aircrafts I have left :wink:

I might do it, but I would like an example of all a/c data that is needed.
I am way over 18, hehe, >Excel knowledge: yes, >Aviation and AM buff: Yes (mainly plane spotting), love to research a/c, which is why I find the 2 aircraft quizzes in the General chat to be extremely amusing :)
Bachelor in informatics, though it hasn't been my line of work for 8 years (find it boring to do 5-6 days a week).
But, I'd like more background data before applying properly :)

I could do it. I think my years in Actual aviation would be an asset, and I have a huge up to date tech library.
Plus being self employed I think I can swing the required time.

Again to re-itterate. I will only accept applications via email. Its a good indication that if you put the effort into sending me an email, chances are you'll put some effort into the position. :)

Put it this way, after this surge for aircraft data there wont be too much work left to do except updating data that is out of skew. Of course there will be general admin work too.

I didn't enjoy being younger... you weren't able to play gotcha in Germany, you couldn't buy the R+ rated films and about one in five alcohol sellers told you to buy in another store :evil:

What is "gotcha"? Getting to drink at a younger age over here (versus in the States) should have been compensation. That and all the bee-yoo-teefull girls I see all over, especially in the summer.
While I like the 24/7 convenience of the states better, Germany still is a nice place. Talk about festivals!!!

I don't think they think you wouldn't be able to do the job good. I think it is more for leagal reasons.
