I think I do.

What you need to do first is choose a programming lanuage. For this game I use PHP. For the database side of things I use MySQL, which is a freeware offshoot of SQL. Personally I'd recommend a good code book, I started off with PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Websites by Larry Ullman and would highly recommend it.

The books? On amazon.com, and on ebay if you´re lucky.

There are hundreds of online PHP tutorials, it depends on how you learn. I work well with books as for me it beats reading a webpage.

If you're talking about web browser-based games such as AM, Neopets, Runescape and similar games, PM me ;) I can't say anything here, but I can introduce you to a little something via PM...

On the other hand, if you were wondering about WoW, Halo, or other graphics-based online games, good luck. You're gonna need a great deal of artistic creativity and a hell-load of physics/math to be able to plot camera endpoints, planes (geometric ones!), and ummm...lotsa mechanics :P
