Title: The Race to the Bottom - LF script and price wars...
Post by: Pacific on August 29, 2007, 10:39:50 am
I'm currently engaged in severe competition with an airline out of the same base. We use different aircraft but of similar seating capacity, flying the same frequencies.
Dash 8-500 vs CRJ. 717-200BGW vs A319.
What has been happenning for days on end is to see who can reset every competing route faster than the other. Each reset involves undercutting the opponent by 1 Euro to get an extra 10,000 Euro in DOP, due to the 100% Loadfactor vs 80-something - the difference of 1 Euro in price.
Is this the way the LF script is supposed to work, because this war reminds me of the first Airline sim game I played (colour is dark blue :P)!

This problem has been addressed in the past.
Basically, the LF script is "supposed" to work that way as in that is the result of how it is written. At the same time, it is not supposed to work that way as in we don't really want it to work that way.
The script will be re-do by Air Elbonia and should be available in the next round. Meanwhile, it is recommended if your load-factor is 85% or above, stop editing it. If not, you will be driving the ticket price to rock bottom, which benefits none of the players on that route.
