Title: Malaybalay Airport no longer exists.
Post by: Thunderstruck on December 05, 2017, 09:05:03 am
Dear Airline Mogul Team,
Malaybalay Airport is available in the game, as an airstrip in the Philippines, with around 1.5 million passengers.
However this airport no longer exists. Here is the information I could find at a quick glance:
"Malaybalay Airport, also known as Malaybalay Airstrip, is the defunct-airport that used to serve general aviation in the area of Malaybalay, the capital city of Bukidnon in the Philippines. During the late 1990s, the airport was closed down and the area where the airport used to be located was converted into a low-cost housing project by the provincial government of Bukidnon." [WIKIPEDIA]
"There is no commercial airport in the province of Bukidnon. The nearest airport is in Cagayan de Oro about 100km away. Cagayan de Oro has several airlines providing daily flights to Manila and Cebu. Malaybalay City used to have an airport, but it had to be closed because the surrounding mountains made the runway approach to treacherous for the pilots." [WIKITRAVEL].
Perhaps therefore it would be best to remove it from Airline Mogul, so as to reflect reality?
Thanks.

Thanks for the report. We will look into it soon. Removing airports from AM is not the same as deleting them from the database. An example is Berlin Tempelhof which is still in the game. The solution is to instead change the passenger numbers to zero. Players who want to mimic historical operations can do so, while others can safely ignore the airport.
