Title: Research Route weirdness
Post by: abhishek on September 04, 2013, 06:25:48 pm
Hi all,

When I research the route JFK-LHR, one of the aircraft listed as capable of flying the route is the Airbus A319-100. Clicking on this brings up the range of the plane as 4254 nm, and the route itself is 3446 nm. However, when I go to actually buy the plane, the range there is 2086 nm for the same plane.

What am I missing here?

Hello, and welcome!

That is because different engine variants have different ranges.

Your Airbus seems to have the short range version, you will need the long range version to fly London - New York.

Didn't think of that, but it explains a lot. Thanks!
