Title: Hotswap leaves aircraft in impossible position
Post by: OSUPoke2007 on April 23, 2013, 01:06:31 am
ID: Route 17565, Formerly Aircraft 6213, Presently Aircraft 10204 Type: Route was hot swapped, for aircraft is impossibly located Description: I am hot swapping to larger aircraft by route and I was able to hot swap a route when I should not have been able to. The result left aircraft 6213 (Convair 440) flying two 0.5 routes between 4 different cities. See screen shot below. I'm rotating my Convair routes now and thought you might want to see. The former route was 1.0 between MSP and DFW. Airline Details: American Airways - 62052 [PW - 2590]

Looks like I pulled it off with 2 aircraft. This one Aircraft 5520 and the missing link is MSP-DFW again. Both MSP and DFW are hubs. This time, the other two legs are 1.0 routes.

It is not an abnormal situation (AM-wise), as you are allwoed to close the connecting flight between the two "free" legs if there are less than two at either end. That is for practical reasons, like here if you want to replace the route.
It should be no problem, although you might encounter some weird situations if you begin creating routes with these aircraft.

Thanks for the response. I was planning on closing the other legs anyways so it would not have created any issues with further route creation, but it just looked weird! (I guess they flew a non-rev positioning flight in the meantime ;) )
