Within 100Days i'm going to start my own world with these settings:
StartYear: 2000
Gamelengt: 10years
Startaircraft: 5 737-700
Gates: 1
Bases Unlimited
Password: Yes
I just want to make it real like I start the airline: AirBerlin i'm going to have bases in their real bases and am going to fly their real destinations and have their real aircraft.
If you want to join tell me your airlinename(in this world real ones) and mainebase(also real):

Quite interesting!
Two questions:
1. If I start with small airline with eg. hub at airport like 10 m of passengers can I start expand to bigger airports to nearby countries and then start new routes like LH which is not included to real airline route network.
2. If little airline like explained over did not have any kind of big aircraft in real life can I buy them as addition to real fleet?
I'm thinking about join to this world and I have two airlines on my mind one is bigger and other is quite small, but it is my favourite airline. I will post airline which I will choose if I join.

I just want to make it as real as possible so I think just start at the airport the airline started also. And I think its okay to add some other aircraft at the fleet.

Don't know if this is still in the plans or not, but do you plan to operate the real frequencies of the airline in question or just essentially recreate the routes, base, etc.?

Still a plan. I think in August it will be there. "essentially recreate the routes, base, etc."

Is it mandatory to operate the same aircrafts as the real airliner?
If not, I would like SAS
If, I shall maybe have to find another, I like Boeings far too much to let my entire international fleet consist of Airbus ;)

You need the same fleet not exactly like they operate 7 and you 9 but you really need all of them..

So in theory you can only be as large as the real airline is. (ofc a bit bigger if you may have some more aircrafts)

Hi, maybe im intrested in Lufthansa.
I read that we should use the planes as the original, but did you mean the fleet at 2000 or the fleet today?
And only the Mother or also the daughters like Lufthansa Regio, AUA ....

I'm in. I'll go for jetBlue. Won't be too accurate with my fleet though.
Love these ~10 year worlds. It's perfect. Not too long, not too short.

Assuming the world is created with unlimited hubs, I will participate as United (post-merger with Continental) including regional affiliates. My first hub will be ORD, with plans to open the following major hubs in no particular order: CLE, DEN, EWR, GUM, IAD, IAH, LAX, NRT, and SFO.
I'll also eventually need to open several additional focus cities to create point-to-point and tag routes as well as services like the multi-stop GUM-HNL island hopper.

I would maybe choose SAS, but can I use all SAS Group airlines hub? I would start at Copenhagen Airport and then expand to other SAS hubs at Stockholm and Oslo. Later I would expand to Helsinki where is real live hub for Blue1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue1) and order Blue1 aircraft also. Same as Wideroe and Estonian Air later. Would that be possible?
Ps. Zach21GF are you still thinking about SAS? You can take it if you want to because you were here first.

Danio I do have a question, what are we supposed to do when we reach the real airlines size?
BTW I have chosen to go with KLM with a starting hub in Schiphol

I don't think that will be fast with the airline of KLM but you can start the regional company or replace the aircraft to have a younger fleet.

Unless someone plays as AF, you could also create the merged company of Air France-KLM and include all its regionals. That might be able to keep you busy for the full length of the world.

I expect 10 years to be more than enough to create the entire merged UA/CO - 10 years is a pretty long world. I often prefer to join worlds with only 4 years left because that gives me time to develop 5-6 hubs with 200+ flights and not worry about fleet renewal. Once the cash starts flowing, it's easy to buy tons of narrowbodies and RJs. The more difficult task for this world will certainly be the widebody-only carriers.

I actually was waiting to get enough free tokens... but at the moment i have 30 so i think that takes to long :( maybe I just have to buy them ($25 to expensive!!! >:() make them cheaper!!!!!

Unless you're dead set on being the creator, I could probably open the world relatively soon. I currently have enough tokens to make the following:

I'd like to join as a regional airline in Denmark/Scandinavia. It'll probably be Cimber Air (before the Sterling merger) or Danish Air Transport. How free are we allowed to be compared to routing and fleet? And how about frequencies, should they be realistic?

The original intention (as I understood it) was to basically try to emulate the route map and fleet of a carrier, no particular concern for frequencies. I'm not sure what players who enter as smaller carriers should do when they quickly outgrow their route map; I would think maybe adopt routes of an associated or partner carrier? I wasn't sure how that would work, that's why I went ambitious with merged UA/CO so i wouldn't have to worry about it. ;)
BTW, think there would be any interest in getting a Realistic World v4 off the ground sometime, Matias? After pushing through smaller market carriers (like my Iranian airline), I might give something big a try for once!

When I gave v3 a go, it didn't get so much attention. I might try again though, I don't know what to do with my tokens :P

10 Years are enough. If you play consistently you can get something like this:

I think the best way to Start is with the commuter routes. Cheap planes with short routes bring a lot of money back in short time.
My best plane in the second world is :

I agree, that's why I'm undertaking a large carrier. I also typically avoid inefficient high capacity planes, but in matching the UA fleet, I will have to save up more to buy 747s and 777s.
At any rate, I will create this world today. When I do, I will open a new thread with the info and password, as well as a list of the participants. I'll post here with a link to that new thread.
