Title: [NAB] Airplane value inconsistent
Post by: 1993matias on April 15, 2011, 09:56:28 am
Hi!

I was checking my planes value, and I saw a 4.5 year old A319 with a value of 46 mill. and a 4.2 year old A319 with a value of 23 mill.

The a/c with high vale has 4217 cycles and 26035 airframe hours, but the "cheap" plane has 0 and 0.

ID#'s:
514
646

WID# 1836
UID# 14837

Are they the same engine variant?

Yes, exact same plane.

The value is not linked to cycles or airframe hours but instead is a function of how old it is. There's a bug somewhere in the game that wipes hours and cycles but I have yet to figure out where it is.

But why the huge difference in value?

The value listed on the view aircraft page is the book value. It is tied in with the purchase price of the plane. If you try putting the plane on market, that would not happen.

Oh, of course!!!

I bought one of them at 50% - could that explain the difference?

Yes it should do. But I'll leave the more detailed answers about valuation to our two finance guys (Daniel & Will) :)
