How exactly is the ID number assigned? If i am nr. 1772, does that make me the 1772nd player to join Airline Mogul?

Correct, they are assigned in sequence from No.1 onwards.

August 12, 2007 according to our records. First registration opened on the 23rd of December 2005, with varying openings from then on. It wasn't always open.

Funny, i remember that running an airline was much harder. Only 1 world, and hence much more competition.

A lot of work to change route pricing, but not too bad.

I'm guessing most recent players would shudder at the thought of...ONE WORLD  :o

I remember "multiworlds", two or three public worlds running simultaneously. I started with #9, I think. I was really big, in the top 50 or so.

But my first "AM"-game was *our biggest competitor*. It had too few airports and planes, but the same amount of players as in AM, so that was crowded!

So full that we'd sell gates at ATL, ORD, etc for planes and other locations xD

Who has ID#2?

Who has ID#2?

It belongs to an old admin that helped setup AM.

What do you mean by old? Old as 99 years old, or old as in 'helped create AM but left soon after sometime in 2005'?

Old as in the second example, he is no longer involved in AM.

3 & 4 are just normal players. 5 was another admin that has since left. There's a gap until the 20s I think. I used delete inactive accounts back then so small IDs are often free. Only 31 was re-assigned to one of our admins: Bryce/Sla31

Title: Re: Todays random thread

IDs below 100 that are taken: 18, 25, 31 (admin), 33, 40, 46, 47, 58, 59, 61, 64-67, 72, 74, 80, 91, 92. People with IDs below 80 I used to know very well, they would have been all MSN contacts. It was a different era for AM, much more personal because it was so small and limited. But it lacked features, data and was very buggy.

Is it possible to change an ID?
Title: Re: Todays random thread
Post by: StephenM on January 24, 2011, 10:22:52 pm
Is it possible to change an ID?

With extreme difficulty. Realistically speaking its not possible for anyone in any worlds. Even then it may be hard. It certainly wont be a feature available to users and largely people have to stick to the ID they are given.
