Title: Cancel orders
Post by: Nipoel123 on November 21, 2010, 05:20:30 pm
What about a cancellation button for aircraft ordered, but not yet delivered? If you make a mistake (like I just did, ordered the wrong engine variant), you can then cancel the order, and order the plane or engine variant that you wanted in the first place. Or maybe a change order function, to change engine variant? As some sort of abuse-preventer, use a cancellation fee, like the downpayment with requesting aircraft, but slightly lower.

Should be a rather hefty cancellation fee though. Around 60% of what you bought the plane for.

Or only during the first one/two game days after the order?

It would be a nice feature to be implemented along side Order Books to allow some level of order swapping/delivery slot movement between airlines. That would make things more interesting I think. :)

Will it be easy to do? Or will it experience the same lagging as Hotswapping?

We actually built a full order book system, but it just didn't work how we wanted between logic and performance. So it got scrapped. Hotswap is dependent on particular developer resources that are not available at this time and thats why we are delayed for so long on it.
