Title: Great place to create your own route map
Post by: JDubman on July 17, 2007, 07:55:22 am
If you guys want to create your own route map for your airline, here's a great resource to do so! I personally use it and love it, and have my entire airline's routes mapped out in Google Earth.
Here's the link: http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/calculators?format=googleearth
Scroll down to the section that says "Draw routes between multiple airports." All you have to do is enter in the routes such as DEN-LAX, DEN-SEA, etc. and select some options, and hit draw map.

You can also speed up the process without typing in all airport codes yourself, otherwise I wouldn't ever have made this:

How'd you do that?
By the way, here's mine. I restyled it so that it would fit my company colors, as well as shrunk the lines so they wouldnt be as fat. I also changed the Icons for the airports

If you right-click your route map, (at least in Firefox, it doesn't completely work in IE because the URL would exceed its maximum length), you'll find the URL to the Great Circle Mapper. In the end, it says 'PATH=' and then come the airport codes. Select them, copy and paste, and you're done! I don't know if it would show all routes, but it shows a lot of them much faster then I could ever type them.

So I got the World largest airlines map on Google Map, No wonder why the link on AM is broken...=.=

Hi all,
I'm the creator of GPS Visualizer. I just wanted to point out that if you use the "Show coordinates" button on GPS Visualizer's "calculators" page (instead of the "Draw map" button), you'll get a plain-text file with all your routes and points, and you can upload (or paste) that into the regular Google Earth form (http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/map?form=googleearth) to gain more control over the way the tracks are drawn.
For example, you could turn off colorizing by track (to make them all the same color) or make the lines thinner. And obviously, getting the plain-text file also allows you to easily edit the names of points and routes if you so choose.

Qwest Aviation [W10] has had some massive increases in both patronage and also its current route structure. With this in mind we have also opened a new hub located in Tokyo to service our Asia wide customers. Qwest will also open direct flights from all of our USA hubs to Tokyo in the near future.
