I've been playing for months and only just now realized that changing the engines when you order changes the fuel burn...

Stephen...

May I recommend changing the purchase aircraft page to mimic the request aircraft page?

Instead of a drop-down menu for engines, simply list all of the aircraft out with each different engine and their specs. Select the radio button next to the aircraft you want, then the next page is where you indicate quantity and purchase.
