Title: Starting a new World
Post by: norge on April 17, 2010, 03:32:41 pm: Hello! I am starting a new world soon, and I wanted to know if somebody is interested. I wanted to see who can make a big airline with the smaller aircraft.
Some data:

Starting year: 1995
Ending year: 2009 (duration 14 years)
North-America, Europe, Asia and Middle-East!
Starting Aircraft: 1 Pilatus PC-12
Starting gate: 1
Cash: 1.000.000
Players: 40-50
Bases: 8 and 3 foreign.

Answer here if your interested, with your airline name and start base!

If you will join, please don't become inactive!

Post by: pseudoswede on April 17, 2010, 03:42:53 pm: You do realize that with only 8 domestic bases, you can have a maximum of 3 foreign bases.

If you want people to have 5 foreign bases, you'll need to offer at least 11 domestic bases.

Post by: norge on April 26, 2010, 07:28:04 pm: We need more players! The continents Europe, Asia, Middle East and North-America is selected. I have calculated the cost for Full World and 100 players: 210-217 tokens. So if many want to have/start (in) other continents, we can make it.

Post by: 1993matias on May 02, 2010, 08:36:18 am: The world hasn't started yet, but it will be started if not in a few days, then when Norge thinks we are players enough. Anyways, I don't think we will be starting soon, but it is up to Norge to choose when to start the world.

Rules:
1. Don't have more than 1 in Daily Services. People over that, like 1.5 and 2 and so on... will be asked to reduce.
2. Don't have more than two aircraft in one route.
3. We have 8 bases possible, and 3 outside the continent. You're second base must be in your Start Continent. Middle-East airlines can start their second base in Asia in wanted.
4. No fares below £100!

What about short hall domestic flights? With large aircrafts sometimes these require small fees to maximise profit?

Unless there are competitors on your route, no one but you (and the AM-admins) can see how much you charge.

Perhaps it would be better if I played as American Airlines as there are already a few players in Europe?

And American Airlines, your base please?

And I changed to United in ORD... like that airline. Or maybe Continental?

Don't worry. Any world under 1000 players is very uncompetitive.

Well I'd like to try and see if we could emulate that sort of world with this one, with people committed to doing some serious airline reports, and the like. That being said, we could create a separate forum for the game at freeforums.org.... Then we could try and set up some additional rules as well. So, with that in mind, I'd like to be the first player in Middle East as Turkish Airlines... Hub at IST

Yes! I am all for it! And anyone on here form The Real World (Lufthansa in the house :) ) please contact me on here or albionairlines.freeforums.org I think I might try to redeem myself and play as Lufthansa again! Now, The starting aircraft - not a big fan, I would suggest starting in 1996 and giving us each an A319 or two.
