Title: [Fixed] Bug with a Greek Airport
Post by: Brintakis on January 27, 2010, 08:52:23 am
Hello, congratulations for your work. I want to note a bug with a Greek airport named "?oannis Daskalogiannis International". In the menu of the "view routes" everything is ok but when are in the "Aircraft Summary" of an aircraft that has a route in that city, the name of the city appears with only the symbol "&" and this probably causes the disappearance of the route map in the same page for the specific aircraft.

hmm...
Can't replicate the first issue, with the "?oannis". Could be a local issue, although the airport name has been updated to english "I" sometime last year, and should show up correctly on all computers. It is showing correctly on mine. Please try refreshing your cookies and caches and let us know if that works.
Aircraft 5168 is showing up correctly. Can't see anything wrong with any of the routes.
Aircraft 6776... we need to dig deeper as to why the airport shows up a "&", while it is correctly named in the database. The route map should not be related to the airport name (unless there is a typo in the script) as it is generated using the airports' codes. ???

Aircraft 5168 is showing up correctly as I changed its routes yesterday.
Aircraft 6776 is still shows at the airport's name "&" and it doesn't show also the map. I refresh the page = nothing... I deleted the cookies again nothing...

I just notice that there is the same problem with "Samsun Çar?amba" airport which in aircraft id = 3075 the name is shown "Samsun Çar&" and that blocks again the route map.

The I actually appears to be the Greek letter Iota (Ι), rather than the I in the Roman alphabet.

Yes. It used to be the Greek letter, but it should have been changed to the Roman one last year. For good measure, I edited the airport name again to make sure it is the Roman I before my post yesterday. It does not seem to make any difference even if the route is edited.

Should be fixed now. Try refreshing and let us know.

Maybe we have to change the title of the subject as "Bug with airport's name"
