Hi all,
I have played in different private worlds for the last couple of months and I finally decided to create a new private world, described as follows:
Full map.
Length: 10 years starting in 1999.
Starting A/C: Dash 8-400, A319/320/321: based upon token cost.
Number of players: up to 10.
5 A/C and 3 gates to start.
This world cost around 220 tokens and I currently have 180.
Is anybody interested in joining the world to create an airline in South America, Africa or Australasia? Players have already manifested interest to be based in Europe and North America (U.S.). However airlines operating from small/regional airports are welcome anywhere in the world.
If you want to join let me know and I will provide you the password.
Since I will need 40+ more tokens to create the world, I was wondering if somebody was willing to transfer tokens to let me create the world?

You can't transfer [free] tokens from one account to another.

Minor correction. Paid tokens are transferable.

By the way, I tried to create the exact same world in late November. It would have cost only 180. My question is: is there any inflation for token cost because the same world is now worth 220+ tokens?

Hi there, interested in your World.
I currently run a Private World (my first) and have some info for you.
Please understand I am only imparting experience and in NO way wish to influence or change your private World set up.
For a full World running so long 10 players may be too little. Part of the cut n thrust of a game is competition (not cut throat or unfair) but the more players involved keeps all Airlines interested.
Many players here like to operate 'real' airlines in the early stages, keeping to real bases, however will look to the FOREIGN bases they can open in future to -
A. Connect their network
B. Expand beyond their natural Airlines home
C. Start new and exciting routes and grow.
For example, the World I own, real Airlines MUST open in their REAL home base, the 2nd within their Continent, after that all players are free to open where they like subject to foreign base rules and allowance.
So, looking at YOUR World proposal, If I were QANTAS (which I would gladly join as) My home base would be SYD. The next MEL then as QANTAS have a base in London, LHR would be next.
If your base count would allow for that I would be happy to join, as I think many others would.
Other things to consider -
10 year Worlds will mean at LEAST 1 complete fleet renewal
As a World owner, you will be drawn into some players disputes and spats, so if you have friends that play, include them as it drastically reduces in-game problems.
Some players will become inactive, you will need to set a rule guideline that all players agree to BEFORE they join.
This is just for your information and I hope may be of some benefit.

There shouldn't be. Any minor differences in settings? Max Players or Bases?

Please understand I am only imparting experience and in NO way wish to influence or change your private World set up.
Thank you for your advice, I absolutely agree with you. The reason why I want to limit the number of players is because the world I am currently playing in is a complete mess with two many airlines in major gateways... 10 players is probably not enough, let's say 20.
I will set up some rules that players will have to agree on before joining and I will include your ideas which I find great.
If you want to be Qantas in my world, you're more than welcome. If you're still interested, I will send you the password via MP as soon as the world opens (still 40 tokens to get).

Sorry but I already have sufficient players in Europe and North America...You can establish your airline in Australasia, Africa or South America (still a whole bunch of major airlines)

Seriously. Full worlds aren't worth playing unless there are a few hundred people in it.

We have Cathay and Qantas so far.

Just one more rule added to the world:
It will be forbidden to create routes between airports in the same metropolitan area. Ex: London Heathrow to London Gatwick..
If nobody wants to transfer tokens to create the world you will have to wait 15 to 20 days to be able to play.

The world has not been created yet so let me know which carrier you want to establish to keep the other one available for other players.

There is no rule that prevents you from using an aircraft type that is not actually used by the airline you're running. JAL, even with a few A319s will remain JAL and I won't object that. (And ANA does not have A319 either, only 320s ;))
We still need additional players in South America, Africa and Asia.

You will regret this decision trust me...
Since Low Cost Carriers have become a significant part of the industry, I have decided to invite players who want to play Ryanair, EasyJet, Southwest as long as you operate from secondary airports.
We still need additional 5 to 10 players.

i am sorry but I want to keep real alliances and I does not make sense to put ANA is OneWorld honestly. Feel free to take JAL and get rid of your A319, that probably the best you can do to be realistic.
Here are the bases that are no longer available for your airline in the US: ATL, ORD, DEN, DFW, LAX, JFK: If you want to create Continental, US Airways, Alaska, Southwest, Allegiant... feel free to and let me know.
In Europe, the following bases are no longer available: CDG, LHR, AMS, FRA, MAD. Still many airlines to play.

I am seriously thinking to switch from A319 to Dash 8-400 as the starting aircraft. It would cost 20 tokens less and the world could be set up next week.
I know it may affect the way you start your airline but it will also generate more revenues.
Let me know what you think.

That's fine with me. Although i wanted to start with A319s, the Dash 8s aren't that bad either. In fact, they're one of the most profitable aircraft i have ever operated.

Starting with dash8-400s is not a problem.
It will also slow the start of the bigger players initially.
QANTAS will be happy with the good ole work-horse Dash 8.

You can start with Iberia, it is absolutely fine.
BINDU, you can pick Qantas if you want, OneWorld will be well represented...

You are absolutely right. I originally had more players interested in joining the world, that is why I indicate the airlines that have already been selected.
However, as the world creator, I can refuse airlines to limit the competition at strategic bases.
But If the airline that you want to join is not on the list, feel free to ask

Feel free to go with China Eastern, and then join SkyTeam later ;)

I am sorry we have only one Star Alliance airline and there are only 10 airlines left (20 players only).
If you absolutely want to join as American then you will have to wait until more Star players join.
If you absolutely want to play in the US then go for UA, CO ....
If you want to join now I would be happy to welcome China Eastern.

I have just started ops in this World. As Iberia.
The World owner is a friendly guy and has set out some very fair and open rules.
I have to say, to make the World more interesting, it needs some extra Star Alliance members (not amongst those who have already showed an interest)
So why not come and be part of an interesting and new World from day 1. It's 12 hours 'till kick off.
