Title: Route Maps
Post by: fazon on October 13, 2009, 09:36:50 pm
Several complaints but it still hasn't been fixed.

When I try to view my route map (or someone elses) via the View Airline page, it's a broken link with some of the bigger airlines. Obvious reason would be that the URL is to long to show all the routes.

That issue has been there since GCM maps were launched. We did identify a replacement software that suits AM and worked reasonably well when tested on route maps that failed to render in Google Maps and GCM. The staff member that was designated the project however has been tied up in personal work and that is the reason for no movement.

How complicated is the task? If it's easy enough and isn't to time consuming I'll do it.

Is the URL problem a browser issue or website server issue (on their part)?

How long is a piece of string? Basically with new software we have potentially new capabilities and we wanted to add in some new maps to the game. The first task was to prove that it works, the second was to create it in PHP to render the straight forward route map for the user. And after its proven in testing then the other applications for the maps would be created, tested and the "package" released.

The URL problem is on the supplier side I believe.
