Title: Maintenance Cost
Post by: Sojourner on April 25, 2009, 05:22:20 am
In public world 461, I have bought some planes (A321) for an airliner. While the airliner haven't settle the transaction, the plane just be listed "SALE". Why do I have to pay the maintenance costs? In the end, three months pasted, that airline didn't buy them, but I had to pay maintenance costs for three months. I think that airline should be the one who take care these burdens or it shouldn't incur any maintenance costs.

You have to maintain it to attract potential buyers, just like cars

I got your point. But I still think it shouldn't be worked in this way. They ask someone to be a broker and to buy the planes form them. In private world, it is very difficult to have an official broker. If these burden is on the broker, who will do that, especially calculating maintenance cost is like a black-box.

Just want to say that official brokers still have to pay the maintenance, so the answer to your question is that someone would do it if the mark-up is high enough.
