Title: Golden Route
Post by: Fitch on January 19, 2015, 10:21:02 pm
So, just out of curiosity is there a Golden Route?
I've never been able to break 200k profit for a route. Is it possible?
Whats the highest profit you've managed with an airline, route, aircraft, ticket price, frequency.

I think I've broken 200k profit, but it has been with no competition. I don't remember where, but probably Atlanta-Chicago or New York.

Interesting, I was expecting it to be in Asia...

I haven't had any airlines in Asia, but no airport can match Atlanta in terms of size

Which aircraft were you using? A330 or B767?

I am not sure now, but i was most time using A319LR or something similar like B737-700BBJ or -800BBJ2. I am now unable to do it again and most of old worlds are archived.

Didn't realize people used the BBJ's or any business jets for that matter.

Oh, right, I totally forgot about those. Yeah, they're the best aircraft if you want bang for your buck.

Not all worlds have them, but with the small capacity they make a good plane to maximize the fare price. :)

My last game I had 5 300k routes, and another 14 at 280-299k. All the 300k were from ATL. Some were using the Concorde, less 747 and a few 707 and L1011.

The Concorde is a golden egg, but the 747SP is not reeeeally a huge, money eating machine here :P

The 747 SP has its uses. I prefer to just plop A300 in this timeframe, but sometimes you need to go long range.

I've never used the 747SP, I use L1011s instead, my preferred is the -250. They do have an impressive range
