Iarnród Mogal / Train Games (for the interim)
« on: June 02, 2008, 07:29:38 pm »There are lots of premade scenarios and vehicles (including planes and trains), but these can be supplemented by user created vehicles and modifications, which make the whole game more realistic. A few of the best packs can be seen on amitrains.co.uk , these include the A320 Pack with colours for many major airlines, including the delights of a Ryanair A320! Also the British Rail and US Packs are very good.
I have made a scenario and map for it too, here is a link to its thread on one of the main places in the Transport Tycoon/Locomotion areas, tt-forums.net.

There is a screenshot of one of the stations in my scenario of the Devon Metro.

How many Celtic Nations are there and what are they?
Iarnród Mogal / Competition for IM

If you join and start a game, the manuals are very hard to decipher. To get around this I was playing on scenarios with Multiple Units, the code for a single MU being just A0 (A Zero) whereas loco hauled stock can get quite confusing.
I am EXTR in Average 2 (Intercity 2000) I have 2 depots, London Paddington and Plymouth
London Paddington:
6 x Class 170 3-Car
Returns per day:
4 x London Paddington - Swansea (via Reading and Bristol)
4 x London Paddington - Bristol (via Reading)
8 x London Paddington - Plymouth (via Reading and Exeter)
6 x London Paddington - Poole (via Reading and Southampton)
6 x London Paddington - Brighton (via Reading)
5 x London Paddington - Dover (via Reading)
3 x Class 222 4-Car
Returns per day:
4 x London Paddington - Liverpool (via Reading, Birmingham and Crewe)
2 x London Paddington - Shrewsbury (via Reading and Birmingham)
2 x London Paddington - Holyhead (via Reading, Birmingham and Crewe)
4 x London Paddington - Bristol (via Reading)
4 x Bristol - Crewe (via Birmingham)
Plymouth:
1 x Class 159 3-Car
Returns per day:
Plymouth - London Waterloo (via Exeter)

General Chat / Are you in a VA on Flight Sim?
« on: January 26, 2008, 06:51:48 pm »I have one, but it is really only me who flies, which is a shame, because it has a pretty paintscheme!
(Old paintscheme on a 738)
(New paintscheme on 752 - only got it yesterday so I am still really excited)
If you want copies of the aircraft and the paintscheme, I can send you the whole thing or just textures if you want. Both go on the Project Opensky (POSKY) models.
Alex, playing with his 757.
General Chat / Chris Sawyer's Locomotion (Game)
« on: January 06, 2008, 08:25:10 pm »You can download Transport Tycoon for free off the internet at http://download.transporttycoon.net/
There is a link to the download for windows at the bottom. On TT, I am addicted to the Westcountry 90201 map in the temperate zone, as I live near Exeter on it. I currently have an 8 platform train station, with bus station and airport to the north side of Cardiff, my base for operations, with services on Class 150 (Sprinters) renamed Dashes in the game to Swansea (3 on the route), Merthyr Tydfil (2 on the route), Abergavenny (3 on the route), Ross on Wye/Gloucester (5 on route, 2 stop at Ross and 3 are direct to Gloucester). I also have a circular route around Cardiff, with 12! Class 150s. On top of this I have an HST (Intercity 125/Class 43) service from Cardiff to Bristol with 6 HSTs with 10 Passenger Carriages and 5 Mail coaches each. The Bus Stop services the innermost part of Cardiff and the Airport has service to Swindon, Bournemouth, Plymouth, Exeter and Worcester on F100s.
The best part of the upgrade to Locomotion is the better graphics.

General Chat / Whatever happened to... Empire Alliance?
« on: October 13, 2007, 10:45:22 pm »If you were around on here from March - December 2006, you may remember the Empire Alliance, the most powerful alliance on the game by far at the time. I was the founder and leader until the end. If anyone can help me remember who was in it, I would be grateful.
As far as I remember:
Flybe (EXTspotter) (Alex)
Cornfield (Cornfield) (?)
BMI (MUFC4eva) (Adam)
Star American Airways (?) (Ron)
Vikjet (?) (Viktor)
PhatEx (?) (Phil)
Yunijet (Nerva88) (?)
NE International (?) (Neil)
Who still plays and where are you now?

« on: December 29, 2006, 07:29:31 pm »There are 2 boeing lines. One for Narrow Bodies and One for Wide Bodies:
The following aircraft take this amount of game days on the line in manufacturing:
717: 3
727: 4
737 - 100/200: 3
737 - 300/400/500: 4
737 - 600/700/800/900: 5
757: 6
747: 12
767 - 200: 8
767 - 200ER/300/300ER :9
767 - 400: 10
777 - 200: 10
777 - 300: 11
If 5 planes ordered could be completed on each line at the same time, you can create a schedual which reflects how it happens in real life.
Here is an order schedual (I know that it wouldnt be possible with the aircraft all being of different eras, but this is just an example):
1. 737 - 400
2. 757
3. 767 - 200ER
4. 747 - 300
5. 737 - 800
6. 777 - 200
7. 727
8. 737 - 300
9. 737 - 300
10. 767 - 400
11. 717
12. 717
13. 767 - 300ER
14. 747 - 200
15. 777 - 300
16. 747 - 400
For this, the first 5 narrow bodies and 5 wide bodies would automatically start being built, it would take the following amount of time to complete the narrow body line:
1. 4
2. 6
5. 5
7. 4
8. 4
From the 5th one, they would be built as one of those ahead in the queue was completed:
9. (takes place of #1) (4) + 4 = 8 days
11. (takes place of #7) (4) + 3 = 7 days
12. (takes place of #8 ) (4) + 3 = 7 days
The same thing happens with the Wide Body:
3. 9
4. 12
6. 10
10. 9
13. 9
Same happens as before, as one plane is completed, another takes its place on the line:
14. (replaces #3) (9) + 12 = 21 days
15. (replaces #10) (9) + 11 = 20 days
16. (replaces #13) (9) + 12 = 21 days
Tell me what you think.
