Airline Branding Center / Logo for Atlanta Lightning
« on: January 01, 2012, 06:01:04 pm »
Hi!

I would lie to ask ever designer out there if they would like to make a logo for my airline, Atlanta Lightning:
Airline Mogul - See my airline

The logo should reflect the year in the world, which currently is 1958.

Colours should be warm, but I have no restrictions.

Thanks in advance!

Suggestions / View airport departure table
« on: December 30, 2011, 12:28:47 pm »
Hi!

the departure table when viewing airport is great, but there is a minor cosmetic problem:

You see the one airport that has to be on two lines? It makes every row in the table get two lines. That isn't really pretty, and takes up a lot of space. Is it something that's possible to fix?

Airline Reports / How's that for an achievement?
« on: December 26, 2011, 10:46:07 am »
Connecting all the worlds countries from London Gatwick (and some from Singapore)! I'm proud of my self :D

Airline Mogul - See my airline

From the in-game forum:

Cityjet - old name, new airline!
In the last golden years of this fantastic world, I have decided to give it a last push.

Cityjet now operating out of London Gatwick, has ordered for six billion € new aircraft, mainly from Airbus. We will expand fiercly into the European market, but also ensure connections abroad with the new state-of-the-art Airbus A330 and A340. We expect to open our first routes during April 2007, but we will have to wait until June for our beloved A340's.

For the regional routes out of LGW, we have ordered 45 Embraer regional jets. Embraer is high quality at high speed, perfect for our airline.

Stay tuned for new updates about Britains newest airline!

Cityjet, bringing the sky to you!

Cityjet - old name, new airline!
After recieving our two A380's, routes to Atlanta, Chicago ad Madrid now have service with the Queen of the Skies. It is now possible to fly every day to Atlanta and Chicago, from London Gatwick with our A330LR and from Heathrow with the A380.

But Heathrow isn't only for our big Queens, we are now servicing 26 British airports from Heathrow at least three times daily, many up to four times daily. The routes are operated by our brand-new ERJ-145. It's a small plane, more economic than out competitors bigger planes. Flying in Britain has never been easier.

In our goal to fly to every country in the world, we have opened a focus city in Singapore. We have up to two daily connections, so you can fly one-stop to Oceania and Australia.

We have just ordered five more A330-200 to connect South and Central America to Britain. Together with an order of ten A320 Prestige for the small, long routes, we are close to our goal to connect the world's 194 official countries.

Cityjet - bringing the sky to you!

Cityjet - old name, new airline!
Want to fly to USA? Piece of cake, we fly to 24 American airports with more than 16 departures daily! Want to fly to China? No problem, several departures daily. Want to fly to South Africa? We fly to Johannesburg. Oh, you are the more exotic kind? Ghana? Djibouti? Maldives? No? More isolated? Let's try Micronesia. Or how about Vanuatu? Palau? Is that not isolated enough? Okay, take our VIP plane to Antarctica!

We now fly to every country in the whole world, including Antarctica, directly from London Gatwick (Australiasia with a stop in Singapore).

Cityjet - bringing the world closer to you!

General Chat / AM livery competition 5
« on: December 23, 2011, 01:17:22 am »
Hi!

As the other livery competitions were successful, I would like to make a slight change to the game, making it harder.

The rules are the same, we vote for the best user-created livery. But this time there's a new rule! You have to make a livery on a Dash 8-400. You will have to make a custom designed livery for the aircraft, making sure it looks nice on the aircraft. It's your choice if you want to make a completely fantasy livery, use the design of one of your airlines, or get inspired by some real world examples.

Prizes
1st place: 100 paid tokens
2nd place: 30 paid for second prize.
And if there are enough contestants, there may be a third prize ;)

The deadline for participating is January 3rd 2012 at 12 PM GMT/UTC (London time)

Example of Dash 8-400 template: http://www.freewebs.com/sla31/apps/photos/photo?photoid=21366581

You are free to use any template available, as long as it is a Dash 8-400.

I hope you will take the challenge to make a whole new livery, and to play with the colours, design and use the planes lines. Make the best out of it - let your skills flourish!

Suggestions / Scrap suggetions
« on: December 22, 2011, 05:46:32 pm »
Hi! I have a couple of suggestions regarding scrap.

A mass scrap button would be nice, especially for the big airlines who replace a lot of aircraft at once. Just like the mass-sell button.

A scrap button in the view aircraft page so you don't have to go back to the aircraft list to scrap a plane.

I hope you find these ideas useful!

Merry christmas (if you have such a thing ;))

Game Data / Price difference between A320 VIP and A330 VIP
« on: December 16, 2011, 03:35:21 pm »
Hi!

I'm just curious why there is a price difference of over 100 million € between the A320 Prestige and the A330-200 Prestige. The stata are almost the same, the A320 is even faster! How can it be 100 million € cheaper?

To compare, the bigger B777 VIP which is faster and has longer range than the A330 Prestige is half the price than the A330

It just seems weird...

Hi!

I just got a new computer, and I'm installing my old games. While installing FSX, the installations stops trying to install the file 'dem0202.bgl'.

My suspicion is that the cd is damaged, but I just want to hear your opinion first..

My new specs:
Windows 7
6gb ram
Intel core i5
640Gb HDD

I appreciate your help!

Edit:
After a couple of minutes, it says 'error 1334'. What is this?

Bugs / Value when leasing aircraft inconsistent
« on: December 10, 2011, 12:35:47 pm »
Hi!

When leasing an aircraft by clicking on the 'Lease' button, the value on the next page (lease_ac_um.php) is higher than on the list. But just wait and see 'till you check the boxes and click on 'Lease Aircraft' at the bottom of the list! An aircraft valued around 29 million, suddenly gets a value of ~1,49 * 1^39 ( really, really, really big number, more than a billion billions)!!! Furthermore, it won't let me lease the plane when using the check boxes, I have to lease each plane individually.

How can that be?

WID# 1241
Airline ID# 14837 - Cityjet
Aircraft ID# 23676, 26334-26337

EDIT:
When viewing the leased planes in my aircraft list, the previous planes listed at 29m is valued at around 50 million. ID# 24992 and 24997

EDIT 2:
In lease_ac_um.php, the value seems to be constant at € 42.294.296, regardless of real value and aircraft model.

Something is really wrong with the ones in charge of valuating the planes. Are you sure you pay them enough, Stephen? :P

Bugs / [Fixed] Aircraft age set to 0 on lease aircraft page
« on: December 03, 2011, 06:28:48 pm »
Buggers, more bugs! :P

The age displayed on the lease aircraft page in the aircraft market states that all aircraft are 0 years old. I'm sure they aren't, because they have ID# around 250, and the newest aircraft in the world are over 400. And I know my planes are older than 0 years :P

Aircraft ID#: 240, 241, 255, 257, 258, 259
World ID#: 2096
Airline ID# 14837, Wildair

I'm sorry to find all those bugs, Stephen, but play AM too much :P

General Chat / Airbus or boeing?
« on: December 01, 2011, 05:46:42 pm »
Hi!

I am recreating my airline in PW#1241, but I am in doubt what to choose.

I like Boeing for their looks, but airbus is generally better in AM. So I want to ask you, if you were to make an airline in 2006 based out of UK, what would you choose? Money is not a big problem, I have 13 billion to spare.

Please don't turn this into a "Airbus is better than Boeing"-discussion!!!
